About these terms
These terms explain how Kalanstra works and what we expect from everyone who uses it. By creating an account or using the platform, you agree to them. If you use Kalanstra on behalf of a business, you confirm you're allowed to accept these terms for that business.
What Kalanstra does
Kalanstra is a marketplace that connects businesses with individuals who provide services and complete work. We provide the tools to post opportunities, apply, communicate, deliver work, pay and review. Unless we say otherwise in writing, Kalanstra is not an employer of individuals and is not a party to the work agreement between a business and an individual.
Accounts and eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
- Provide accurate information and keep it up to date.
- Keep your password secure. You are responsible for activity on your account.
- One person or business per account. One account can both hire and earn; you choose which capabilities to switch on.
Opportunities, applications and work
Businesses must describe work honestly, including deliverables, budget, deadline and requirements. Listings may be reviewed before publication and removed if they break our guidelines. Individuals must only apply for work they intend and are able to complete. Once hired, both sides agree to the listed deliverables, timeline and price. Changes should be agreed in writing on the platform.
Payments, fees and payouts
Payments are processed by our third-party payment provider. Fees are listed on our pricing page and shown before you confirm any payment. A payment or payout is only treated as complete once the provider confirms it. Funds may be held until work is approved where the provider supports this. Payouts may be delayed or unavailable because of verification, country or provider restrictions, and we'll explain why when that happens.
Live payments are not yet active. Until they are, any transaction shown in a test environment is clearly labelled and involves no real money.
Revisions, cancellations and refunds
Businesses may request revisions within the agreed scope. If work cannot be completed, either party may request cancellation. Refunds are assessed using the documented brief, messages and submissions, and the payment provider's rules.
Community standards
- Treat others with respect. No harassment, discrimination or threats.
- No illegal, deceptive or harmful work, including fake reviews or misleading promotion.
- Keep communication and payment on Kalanstra so there's a clear record.
- Don't share other people's private information.
We may suspend accounts that break these standards. You can report users, listings, messages or reviews at any time.
Reviews
Reviews must be honest and based on real work completed on Kalanstra. We may hide reviews that are abusive, irrelevant or manipulated.
Liability
We work hard to keep Kalanstra safe and reliable, but we can't guarantee the quality of work or the conduct of every user. To the extent permitted by Jamaican law, our liability is limited to the fees you paid us in the three months before the claim.
